Who is Bob Pillay?
An ‘island boy at heart’ born in Fiji, Bob Pillay is the eldest of three boys, a born leader destined for success. As a young boy his father’s words to him were ‘Son, in order to be successful in life, you must explore the world’. The transition from a small town into the big smoke of Brisbane in the late 80s was immense; a new country, culture, people, and way of life but Bob was up for the challenge! He completed high school and went on to study Architecture, Industrial Technology and Education at University in Brisbane.
After graduating, Bob worked in manufacturing, mining, and training sectors across Australia. He developed his technical, management and training skills through various roles. With the hunger to learn and travel he moved to California in 2004. Upon arriving in the US, Bob wanted to work and learn as much as possible, this led him to the Aerospace and Defence Industry, getting promoted to Production Manager -Aerospace and Defence very quickly. In this role, Bob travelled within the USA and Europe on advanced design, manufacturing, and management projects enhancing his skills and increasing his passion for business.
After almost 6 years, Bob came back to Australia and started the Joint Strike Fighter- F35 Program as Program Manager. This role involved getting a company from start-up to full manufacturing capability of advance JSF-F35 Fighter jet components. Bob was responsible for managing billion-dollar contracts, people and materials management, and business and production operations.
This accelerated his obsession with ‘systems and processes” and the role “quality” plays in any successful business.
In 2014, Bob started his consulting business, SNP Consultants and opened doors to Cornerstone Law Offices (CLO) with his wife Pravinita. Under Bob’s expertise, CLO has grown from its humble beginnings operating from a home office in 2014 to becoming a nationally recognised and award-winning law firm with multiple offices and over 25 staff.
To grow any business organically from the ground up is an enormous task but being able to manage all the operational demands like marketing. business development, human resources, risk management is vital not only for growth but for sustainability of any successful business.
Bob achieved this whilst expanding SNP Consultants; for advanced level, inhouse business consulting, establishing eEstate Planners; a law tech company providing affordable digital platforms for estate planning services, engineering My WorkPlacement; to connect talent with corporate and small to medium-sized businesses across the globe, starting Convey My Property & Convey My Home; a Property-tech company making it easy to buy and sell property and introducing The Dynamic Business Institute; for business coaching, training and mentoring.
Bob has applied his extensive knowledge and practical experience to various businesses from Manufacturing, Professional Services, Industrial and Technology sectors to Food & Beverage.
